The Hollywood Express ran the table during the season, and were on track to be 1 game away to run the playoffs as well. They would start out to an early lead, and then would finish the period up 3-1. It looked as if the Express were going to run over the Leafs, as Jason Smith would score 2 in the opening frame. However, perhaps it was the calm, cool, and collected voices on the bench that changed the fortunes for the Leafs. With Ricky the Dragon MIA, there was a quietness around the NY Leafs, that no one was accustomed too. Marcel and Bevi would lead the charge,and the second period would be nothing like the first. The Leafs kept the pressure coming with Marcel tying it up with just over 2 minutes to go. And just a minute after tying the game, the Leaf would get a big goal from Nathan Hudgin, scoring the game winner. The Express would try to score the tying goal, but the buzzer would go, and the Leafs would give the Express their first loss all season.
Little break for these 2 teams, as game 2 will go on August 13. The Hollywood Express better come to battle in game 2, and let's hope they can for the full 30 minutes.
